about another earth

In the multiverse, a nearly limitless number of Earths exist, all part of a cosmic game ongoing between Light and Dark. On one particular Earth nearly all of the cosmic tricks and cards have been played leading to a world where mythical beings such as elves, orcs, trolls, dragons and more have existed alongside humanity since the dawn of time. Magic and cybernetics collide with Faith in the Gods and high tech weaponry. Another Earth is often described as “High Fantasy meets Dystopian Cyberpunk”.

Enter a world devastated by war and a recent global crisis the resulted in the deaths of nearly four billion people and forcing most of those left to congregate in the megacities of the world, massive population centers that grew out of the old world in places such as Houston, Denver, Moscow, Hong Kong, and Chicago: the City of Dragons.

Duane Ellefson

Duane Ellefson

Author

A father of three boys, with a grandson and two granddaughters, Duane Ellefson has spent most of his life with the dream of publishing an original work. An avid fan of Sci-fi, Fantasy, Cyberpunk, and many other genres of fiction he spent much of his years growing up playing Dungeons & Dragons and other table top RPGs. Growing up and living in Wisconsin for most of his life has left the author with a great love of sausage, cheese, and beer, as well as an odd habit of saying ‘oop’ a lot.

Duane is mostly of Norse and Scandinavian heritage with some English, German, and Polish ancestry as well.  He served in the United States Marine Corps directly out of high school and is a former kendo and full contact weapons tournament fighter. He has worked as a contributing writer for both Sci-Fi and Modern Supernatural/Horror settings while working as a DJ, Host, and Manager for several clubs in Southern Wisconsin before beginning a career in IT as a networking and support specialist.

The world and setting of Another Earth is the culmination of nearly a year and a half of world building, writing, and near obsessive levels of plotting. Duane is also known to run mainly on New Glarus beer and terrible, terrible Dad jokes.

Webmistress

Hiding behind all this code lies Kristie Lauborough, she-who-pushes-all-the-buttons (literally, and figuratively). She has been reading ever since she told her mother what the  “beer” sign at the store said at age 2, which probably explains why she gets along so well with Duane.

Kristie grew up in Memphis, TN (even though she dislikes Elvis), but calls Sonoma County, California home. She currently suffers through midwestern winters in spite of her better judgment and resides in southeast Minnesota with her husband, Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and 2 very ungrateful cats. She is an unrepentant coffee snob, and can usually be bribed with sushi and good chocolate. If she really likes you, she might make you fried chicken.

The Force is strong with Kristie, as she worked for 3 years for LucasArts (a division of Lucasfilm Ltd) on various titles including Star Wars Galaxies, Republic Commando, Jedi Academy, and Knights of the Old Republic (1 and 2). These days, when she’s not living out her villain origin story, she’s employed as an implementation consultant for an enterprise-level software company.
